Keep nominating someone special who is undergoing treatment on our website. Click on the link above and tell us their story.

Stella is a beautiful 18 month old little girl who is battling leukemia. She was diagnosed 2 weeks ago and has already received her first chemo treatment and is currently on the bone marrow transplant list. She is our youngest warrior and deserves a blanket fit for a princess. She will be staying the hospital for quite some time as it might be too risky to go home in such a state. We can only hope that our blanket gives her the safety and security that she would feel in her own bed/crib. Our thoughts and prayers are with Stella and her family during this trying time.

Esther is quite a special lady. She has been a pillar of strength and support to her family in many hard times. From the time that I have known Esther she has always been selfless, taking care of others before taking care of herself. She has supported me and my husband many times throughout our lives. The least we can do is show her support during this time with one of our blankets. Esther was recently diagnosed with ovarian cancer. She has had a hysterectomy to remove a 9 inch tumor and will be beginning chemo this week. She has a wonderfully positive attitude as she begins this journey. Esther has many a time joked saying, “Only the good die young and I haven’t been very good.” Never dramatic, always calm; we all know she will make it through.

Barb has been fighting cancer for a major portion of her life.  30 years ago she was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.  She fought and won that battle only to be recently diagnosed with breast cancer.  She has a strong supportive family who has been with her for the fight the entire time. Friends and family wanted her to feel the warmth of the blanket as she keeps fighting her battle.

Patty, 52, was diagnosed with Stage 3B Nodular Sclerosis Hodgkin’s Lymphoma only days ago. She received her first chemo yesterday! One of the symptoms of her disease is fever. She has been running a fever for months and is always cold. A perfect gift right now would be a blanket from all of us who support her in her new fight. We hope that Patty can feel our love and warmth as she warps herself up in our squares. Stay strong Patty!!

Shannon, Virginia Beach VA, is described by her friend Teresa as, “one of the strongest women I have ever met! She has had a successful career and is now staying home to raise her 3 beautiful children. As the wife of a Navy Seal officer, life is never dull, and now at the age of 42 she has been diagnosed with rectal cancer!” Shannon has begun chemotherapy treatment only last week. After receiving her blanket, Shannon wrote, “It is so beautiful and I have not put it down since opening the box. Just knowing so many people care is like having an angel on my shoulder. Thank you so much. My battle has just started and I have a long road ahead. My warrior blanket will be with me every step of the way. Thank you, thank you!!!!!!”  -It is our pleasure Shannon!

Pat is a strong loving woman who values her family more than herself. She has been undergoing chemothreapy for some time now. Pat was nominated by a complete stranger, Ilze. Ilze was in a diner being waited on by Pat’s daughter. Her daughter nonchalantly mentioned her mother was battling cancer and Ilze immediately thought of our work. She shared our cause with Pat’s daughter and quickly nominated her for a blanket. I love this! Perfect incidence of paying it forward. Thank you Ilze for supporting our cause and spreading the word. We hope that Pat was able to smile when she received her amazing gift.

Annette from Vermont was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and has had a partial mastectomy. She will be starting radiation and chemo as soon as she is recovered from her surgery. Sheila, Annette’s niece, wanted Annette to hopefully get a little pick me up as she begins her journey towards becoming cancer free. We hope that is exactly what happened. Sheila has requested that we mention the importance of yearly mammograms. Early detection is the best prevention.
