Meet Our Ultimate Warrior Blanket Recipients 4/11/13
53, 87, 92…Blanket recipients, # of days since the start, # of total blankets to date. Behind these numbers are the thousands of uncounted squares that are waiting to be stitched into blankets. Please keep sharing our message by sharing our FB page, hanging flyers at your place of work, or by simply word of mouth. Encourage those you know to nominate recipients for these beautiful blankets. The blankets are for cancer patients who are currently undergoing treatment for ANY type of cancer.
Lin, residing in North Carolina, was diagnosed with Stage IV Inflammatory Breast Cancer back in 2011. She is still fighting this disease. To make matters worse, her husband Max was just recently diagnosed with colorectal cancer in November 2012. Neither Lin or her husband are able to work due to side effects of chemotherapy and radiation. Lin is a strong courageous woman. Her friend Linda wanted her to receive a blanket to let Lin know how much she is loved.
Rachel is an elementary teacher from Round Rock, Texas. She was diagnosed with a late stage of breast cancer in November 2012 and began almost immediate treatment and surgeries. Her friend Pat nominated Rachel saying “she is an inspiration and a joy to all who are lucky enough to befriend her. Best of all, she is human and honest about it all.” We hope that Rachel can feel our support while sleeping in her “comfy bed” gaining the strength she needs to fight each day.
Jill, from Ontario Canada, was nominated by her friend Patiann. She was recently diagnosedwith breast cancer and is scheduled to have surgery next week followed by more treatment. We know this can be a scary time, so we have sent a blanket to show her our support and comfort during this difficult time.
Janey is currently battling breast cancer. She has had two surgeries so far this year and still has a long way to go. Currently, Janey is undergoing chemotherapy treatment which will be followed by radiation therapy. Living in Minnesota, Janey says that she is always cold and would love to have a blanket to give her comfort and warmth.
6 amazing men and women being treated at Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia. We do not know their story or even their names, but we know they are ultimate warriors for being in this fight.
