Meet Our Ultimate Warrior Blanket Recipients 3/12/13
It has been two months of success. We have a lot of good things happening that we will be sharing next week. But the best thing that can happen, is sending out more blankets! We have another 5 Ultimate Warriors this week. Please take a moment to read these heartwarming and inspiring stories.
Judi was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer, after mammograms and ultrasound missed the cancer. She is a new grandmother and has a job, with the Courts, that she loves. Nominated by a fellow Bucks County Breast Friend, Judi completed the surgical part of treatment and is beginning chemotherapy, followed by radiation. Judi is in good spirits and loves her new blanket!
Patti was diagnosed with breast cancer the Friday before Christmas 2012. She just started chemotherapy 4 weeks ago and it has been a rough start. Her godson, a stylist at a near by salon, cut his Aunt Patti’s beautiful hair into what she calls the “G.I. Jane” buzz cut. Patti took this all in stride and now says that G.I. Jane is ready for battle. :) Keep fighting, Patti! You have a lot of troops fighting for you.
Maria, a 56 year old elementary school secretary, is currently battling colon cancer. Her friends say her sweet personality is the highlight of the office. She always sees the best in people due to her kind and generous nature. It is time to give her a take of her own medicine. The Pink Warriors see the best in you! So many people are pulling for you each and every day. We hope you can feel the power through the blanket.
Jamie is a 26 year old old elementary school teacher. She is engaged to be married in July. She was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma, “Hodge” as she calls it, in February. Jamie is a warrior because even though “she got the Hodge”, she is continuing on with the next stage of her very young life and plans to live to a ripe old age. She is still working and she and her fiancé, Dan, have no intentions of rescheduling the wedding. Her family and the Pink Warriors hope she can feel the love from all of us through your new blanket.
Debbie has been battling breast cancer for quite some time. The years have come and gone, and so has the cancer. Every step of the way she has fought the fight with grace as only she could do. She has a son who means the world to her and makes her so proud each and every day. Her friend calls Debbie “a true warrior”. We hope this blanket comforts Debbie in a way only a hand stitched blanket made with love can.
