How To Get Involved

Written by Nik

Here are just a few of the ways that you can get involved in Pink Warriors' Project Chemo Crochet without even knowing how to crochet!

Make 9 inch squares for the Project Chemo Crochet blankets

Even if you don't know how to crochet at all (check out these videos or others on YouTube if you need help getting started), you can crochet or knit 9 inch squares! Please do your best to keep to this size as it makes the assembly process much easier. Hook size, pattern, and color does not matter. The more creative the better! Yarn must be washable.

Ship squares to (please note that we do not accept completed blankets!):

Project Chemo Crochet
PO Box 386
Fort Washington PA 19034

If you are local and would prefer to drop off a load, contact us using the link above.

Host a square stitching party (or a learn to crochet party)!
It is a great time to spend with family/friends/neighbors for a common cause and you can learn about crocheting (and each other) in the process.

Spread the word about Project Chemo Crochet
Print out our brochure and give to others.

Submit the name and address of someone you know currently battling cancer.
The best way to get involved is to spread the love through a blanket

Shop for Pink Warrior and Project Chemo Crochet merchandise.
Visit our Zazzle store! A portion of your purchase goes towards the shipping and supplies needed to keep sending our chemo blankets for FREE to those in the fight.

Donate
Can’t crochet, that’s okay! You can fund a blanket to be shipped. On average, it costs $12 per blanket to be shipped from our location. We have shipped over 550 blankets to all 50 states, Canada, and the UK. This wouldn't be possible without our generous donations from you. All donations are tax deductible!

Hold a fundraiser

Thank you for your support!

Blanket Request

As a caregiver, we know how difficult it is to watch a loved one battle cancer. It is terrifying to watch the person you care about so deeply grow weak, lose their hair, not be able to eat, and in worse times lose all of their independence in the world.  Often times, you as the caregiver feel helpless.  There is nothing you can do to take away their pain, discomfort, and lack of energy.  What you need to realize is that every little thing DOES help.

Project Chemo Crochet

Imagine entering a large medical lab scared and anxious for your first (or 5th, or even last) chemo treatment.  You look around and see many people laying back in vinyl recliners surrounded by nurses, TVs, and IV poles.  Although it is 70 degrees outside, you are shivering with anticipation of the next 6 hours to come.  Your body being pumped with poison to kill not only the cancer cells that have taken up residence in your body, but also the good cells that are your only hope of feeling engertic and healthy.  You know that in about 2 days, you will be so weak that even reaching for the remote control will seem like climbing Mount Everest.  It doesn't matter how many people are in the room with you or that your daughter is sitting by your side for the entire duration.  You feel cold and lonely.
